The area including Five Forks, Mauldin, Simpsonville and Fountain Inn is known as The Golden Strip.Property use is subject to restrictions as detailed in the River Walk Restrictive and Protective Covenants on file with Greenville County as are the bylaws and rules which can change frequently. Each property is subject to an assessment set by the board of directors each year and due May 1st. River Walk also has rules, which govern the use of corporate property, which is property owned by River Walk Recreation Association, Inc.River Walk children are eligible to attend these public schools: Monarch Elementary, Mauldin Middle School and Mauldin High School.
