River Walk (often misspelled Riverwalk) is in Five Forks near Mauldin and Simpsonville, South Carolina. The 400+ property subdivision is comprised of mostly two-story brick houses with side or rear garages. River Walk was founded in 1987. Five Forks is a CDP (Census Designated Place), and as such is unincorporated, so there are no municipal taxes. It is governed by Greenville County and residents pay only Greenville County taxes and state taxes. The area including Five Forks, Mauldin, Simpsonville and Fountain Inn is known as The Golden Strip.
Property use is subject to restrictions as detailed in the River Walk Restrictive and Protective Covenants on file with Greenville County. Each property is subject to an assessment set by the board of directors each year and due May 1st.
